Accreditations

Licensing & Accreditation

LOPC has been inspected to ensure that our work is meeting recognised standards for safety and quality.

We are pleased to announce that we passed all these inspections with glowing reports and now have the following:

Quality Badge

LOPC has been awarded the Quality Badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) for the standard of activity provision delivered to School groups.

The LOtC Quality Badge is intended to assist schools in identifying external LOtC providers who deliver good quality teaching
and learning experiences and manage risk effectively.

What does this mean for Schools using the Centre?

Both Leicester City and Leicestershire County Local Authorities recommend the use of the LOtC Quality Badge to all their Schools Establishments and Groups.
They do not require information from LOtC Badged Providers that duplicates details provided by the Quality Badge Criteria.

More information from the Outdoor Education Advisers’ Panel can be found here

Adventure Activities Licensing

Adventure activities licensing ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices in Climbing, Trekking and Watersports.

These should allow young people to experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors without being exposed to avoidable risks.

British Canoe Union Approved Centre for Paddlesport activities

Certifies that we are a Training Centre for Canoeing whose standards of instruction meet the exacting requirements of the British Cnaoe Union.

Canoe England Club Mark Top Centre

This award recognises that we have demonstrated that we deliver high quality standards when working with young people in the following areas:

Adventuremark (AAIAC)

Adventuremark is a non-statutory safety accreditation scheme devised by the Adventure Activity Industry Advisory Committee (AAIAC) for providers of adventurous activities that are outside the scope of the Adventure Activity Licensing regulations. AAIAC has appointed Adventure Activity Associates Ltd. to operate Adventuremark on its behalf.

The Adventuremark accreditation allows LOPC to demonstrate to our customers that the potential risks of adventure activities have been inspected and found to meet the AAIAC Provider Accreditation standards which define “good practice” in the adventure activity industry.

National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme

The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing structures.

It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering. It is open to all candidates aged 7 and upwards.
