BCU 4star WW Leader Assessment

Course Description

This is a two day assessment covering the entire syllabus for the necessary award. This includes areas such as: personal kit, river running skills, rescue skills, safety, and leadership and group skills. Course will mainly be based on grade 2 rapids.

The course will be based in Yorkshire in the Teesdale area. Accommodation will be provided for the night prior to the start of the course and the night after the first day of the course.

Candidates will be expected to bring their own necessary equipment for the assessment however should you need any particular item we will try to help as best we can.

Pre-requisites

Candidates must have: a first aid award (min 8 hours), provide evidence of 12 river trips in four different locations. Experience must include: 6 grade 3 river trips as a member, 6 grade 2/3 river trips as an assistant leader. Candidates must have done both the white water safety and rescue course and two days of logged training experience. Candidates also need to be 16 or over at the time of the assessment.

Payment required to secure a place, together with completed registration form. No refund given for failure to attend.
