BCU Paddlesport 5 star Canoe Leader Assessment

Course Details
This is a two day assessment aiming to achieve the UKCC BCU Canoe 5 Star Award. Throughout the course candidates will be expected to demonstrate: grade 3 river running skills, open water skills, lining, poling and navigation skills. Candidates will also be tested on their rescue skills, safety, leadership and theory.
The course will be based in Cumbria. Accommodation will be provided for the night prior to the start of the course; the second night will be a wild camp as part of the assessment.
Pre-requisites
Candidate must be aged 18+. Candidate must hold a first aid award (16 hours +), BCU 4 Star Award. Candidate must bring a log of 30 varied quality/ advance open canoes days in three geographical areas. Candidate must also have completed four days of 5 star training.
Payment required to secure a place, together with completed registration form. No refund given for failure to attend
