Course Details
You will receive two days of training from one of Britains best Level 5 Coaches Martin Barry working on the skills required for the UKCC BCU Canoe 5 Star Award. Throughout the course candidates will be coached on: grade 3 river running skills, open water skills, lining, poling and navigation skills. Candidates will also be coached on the following:
- Efficient river running skills
- Effective open water skills (winds up to force 5)
- Lining
- Poling
- Navigation
- Skilful boat and bank based rescues
- Appropriate leadership and safety skills
The course will be based in the Lake District.
Accommodation will not be provided, if you require accomodation we will be happy to book it for you at cost price, and then we can group everyone together.
Pre-requisites
Candidate must be aged 18+. Candidate should already have or be of the same ability as the relevant 4 Star Award. Ideally candidates should also have some experience canoeing on grade 3 rivers and open water in force 5 winds however this is not essential for the training.
Payment required to secure a place, together with completed registration form. No refund given for failure to attend.
