Course Details
This is a two day assessment course aiming to complete the relevant award. The assessment will cover aspects such as: personal paddling, using eddies, paddling drops and rolling on white water. The assessment will also look into rescues, safety and leadership as well as the necessary theory associated with paddling on white water. The course will be mostly based around paddling grade 3/ 4 rapids.
The course will be based in Yorkshire in the Teesdale area. Accommodation will be provided for the night prior to the start of the course and the night after day 1.
Pre-requisites
Candidate will need to be minimum age 18. Candidate needs to hold a first aid award (16 hours) and 4 star award. Candidate must also provide evidence of 30 varied quality advanced white water kayak river days in 3 different geographical areas and have logged experience kayaking grade 5 rivers with piers. Candidate also needs to have evidence of at least 3 days of formal 5 star training.
