Course Description
The National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) is a UK wide scheme designed to promote climbing development and accredit individual achievement on artificial climbing walls. It can be used as a starting point for people wishing to take up climbing and mountaineering. The course covers the skills necessary to climb safely under supervision, and progresses onto the skills needed to climb independently at climbing walls around the country.
This 7 week course has been designed to allow extra time to complete skills necessary to achieve the Level 1 Award. It is aimed more at the 8 – 12 age range.
Pre-requisites
Min age 8. No experience necessary. Please wear loose sports clothing. Payment required to secure a place, together with completed registration form. No refund given for failure to attend. Notice will be given prior to the course if it has insufficient numbers to go ahead.
