One day Introduction to Canoeing Course
Cost: £55
Course Details
This course is for absolute beginners being introduced to the paddle sport. It’s an intensive course as we aim to run through all the syllabus and hopefully get you to a one star standard in that day. If you pass you will then hold the BCU 1 Star Award.
This is an ideal course for someone who may need to travel or can’t commit to coming week after week.
You will be paddling canoes and kayaks and be running through the following key areas:
•Learn to paddle forwards and backwards
•Find out how to steer and control the boat
•Develop the beginnings in water confidence
•Discover the differences between canoe and kayaking and how they relate to each other
The course is run on a ratio of 1:8. Necessary equipment such as boats, paddles and buoyancy aids will be provided.
As this is an intensive course make sure you arrive fresh ready to get stuck in and learn a lot.
Pre-requisites
Although it is not necessary it is ideal that the candidates are aged 14 and over. Candidates do not need to be able to swim but some water confidence is preferable.
Payment is required to secure a place, together with a completed registration form. No refund will be given for failure to attend the course. On successful completion a £6 registration fee is required to collect your certificate.
