Open Weekend 2012
A Celebration of Outdoor Adventure
Come and join Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre to celebrate a weekend dedicated to outdoor adventure!
On the 19th & 20th of May LOPC is proud to be hosting an open weekend to celebrate adventurous outdoor activities in the heart of Leicester. During the celebration there will be:
- FREE activities for everyone to enjoy from bushcraft to canoeing to the City Skylines Aerial Challenge and much more!
- Get involved with the London 2012 Games by taking part in Olympic sports including archery and fencing
- Exciting displays and demonstrations to take place from outdoor clubs, including Leicestershire Scouts and Guides (Hotdoggers), PaddlePlus Canoe Club, Lansdowne Dog Training Club, the Territorial Army and the Military Fitness Group, Redhill Revolvers Field Pistol Club and yoga demonstrations and many more!
- Competitions and challenges including, paddle sport races and high ropes challenges, orienteering trail hunts and mini challenges for all ages and much more!
- Win passes to Adventure Club
- Food and refreshments
- An opportunity to meet LOPC staff, trustees and volunteers
- An opportunity for you all to put forth ideas on how the Centre can be developed and improved for the future
- Parking available at LOPC and at Jelson Homes, Loughborough Road, LE4 5PR
- There’s no need to book, just come on the day and have fun!
- Dress for the weather
- Groundwork will be offering free bike health checks to all visitors and will replace any parts that are dangerous
