Summer Holiday Scheme 2020
From 20th July 2020, we will begin to offer a covid-compliant Holiday Scheme at LOPC.
We are excited and prepared to invite you and your children back to us, with exiting new activities such as Stand Up Paddle-board Journeys, the British Canoeing Start Award, STEM sessions and old favourites such as the Abbey Park River Trip!
Changes to the Holiday Scheme:
From the 20th July, we will be offering the exciting and adventurous Scheme here at LOPC. We need to be complying with current covid regulations, so there are a few things that may be different.
We are unable to offer Breakfast Club at the moment, with drop off from 09:00 - 09:25. Sessions will begin at their usual time of 09:30.
Lunch time will be reduced to 45 minutes. The tuck shop will continue to run with staggered operating times. Please bring small change should your child wish to purchase sweets or still drinks.
Parents/Legal Guardians need to provide a packed lunch, snacks, appropriate sun covering (sun hat, t-shirt with sleeves), a large water bottle/plenty of drinks, sun cream and a full set of spare clothing. Please see the kit list for further information.
The sessions will finish at 16:00. Pick up will be from 16:00 - 16:30.
We will continually assess how we run the Scheme, and look to extend it in August, but this will be confirmed at a later date.
Children will remain with their group and instructors for the full day. Groups with more than 5 people in will be split into 2 while the maximum permitted group meeting size is 6.
In previous Schemes we have allowed group changes, availability permitting, on the morning of attendance. We will not be allowing this in the initial return of the Scheme.
Children will not be expected to wear face masks or covering, but if they choose to do so they can.
- On arrival, children may be temperature checked, if so, those displaying a high temperature (over 38°C) will be unable to attend, and advised to self-isolate per covid-19 guidelines.
In previous years, we have provided sun cream for children. We are unable to do so at the moment. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide sun cream for their child(ren).
Please note that LOPC reserve the right to alter activities and groups at the beginning of the day. We make every effort to stick to the original activity plan, but occasionally we may have to make changes.
Please see the Holiday Scheme Information Leaflet (2020) for further information about our Covid-19 changes.
