Bring your primary school students to Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre for an unforgettable day of hands-on outdoor education, packed with exciting activities designed to spark curiosity and build key skills. We fit the day into 3 separate activities. 
 
Orienteering for Habitats 
Discover nature as students navigate through our grounds, identifying different habitats and the creatures that live there. Learn how animals adapt to their surroundings and the importance of protecting biodiversity! 
 
Archery and the Food Chain 
Take aim with our archery activity while learning about the food chain and how animals survive in the wild. Understand predator-prey relationships while practising focus and coordination. 
 
Bell Boating for Health and Hygiene 
Team up on our Bell Boats to explore the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle. Discover the role of good nutrition and hygiene while working together on the water to stay afloat!

Pupils should be taught to: 
Explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive 
Identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited and describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other 
Identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including microhabitats 
Describe how animals obtain their food from plants and other animals, using the idea of a simple food chain, and identify and name different sources of food.
