Secondary School Curriculum Enrichment
Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre offer a variety of cross-curricular support, as well as subject specific activities.
Over the last 5 years groups have visited LOPC for various programmes, looking at geography, science, maths, English, PE and PSHE. We can accommodate both Key stage 3 and 4 curriculum based activities.
If you are looking for something specific - for example a river studies programme - please contact us on email@example.com
Someone will be happy to discuss your class needs and create a programme for you.
Liz Clarke (PE Teacher) New College
The young people have absolutely loved their time at LOPC and so did I…. after I’d done plenty of screaming! Many thanks to the team at LOPC, they were fantastic with the pupils. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Key Stage 3
Starting at secondary school in year 7 can be a daunting undertaking, a visit to LOPC can help break down barriers and help your new cohorts get to know each other. Our programmes of activity develop in line with your young people as they progress through their early years at secondary school.
Key Stage 4
Years 10 and 11 are crucial times for young people making decisions about the next stages of their learning and development post 16 as well as stressful times due to those decisions, exams and coursework. Our programmes can help with the decision making, enrich the curriculum, support and enhance GCSE results and improve mental well-being.
This is an ideal program for encouraging young people to take responsibility for themselves and is therefore ideal for assisting pupils to prepare for a change such as the transition from one school to another.
At LOPC we believe that the work placement must give young people an accurate introduction and experience of the job interview process, working at a busy Centre and the feedback process expected in the workplace.
