British Canoeing Aquatic First Aid Level 1 (1 day, 8 hour)
Course Description

This is a one day (8 hour) course, but can be delivered either as a full day or over 2-3 evenings. The course covers all the basics in first aid including the following:
- Introduction to First Aid
- Resuscitation
- Unconsciousness
- Airway & Breathing Problems
- Circulation Problems
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Effects of cold and heat
The course is very practical as we learn resuscitation techniques and scenarios to cement the learning. As a course affiliated with British Canoeing we will look into application of the first aid into paddle sport situations.
The qualification can be used as the required first aid award for a variety of paddle sport leadership and coaching qualifications. To find out whether it's the right course for you click here.

Cost - £45 per person, which includes the accompanying handbook, *this is an introductory price and will go up over the course of the year.
This does not include British Canoeing admin fees, which are £6 for a BC member, £9 for a non-member, which we will take on completion of the course.
