Course Description

This is a one day (8 hour) course, but can be delivered either as a full day or over 2-3 evenings. The course covers all the basics in first aid including the following:

  • Introduction to First Aid
  • Resuscitation
  • Unconsciousness
  • Airway & Breathing Problems
  • Circulation Problems
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Effects of cold and heat

The course is very practical as we learn resuscitation techniques and scenarios to cement the learning. As a course affiliated with British Canoeing we will look into application of the first aid into paddle sport situations.

The qualification can be used as the required first aid award for a variety of paddle sport leadership and coaching qualifications. To find out whether it's the right course for you click here.
