This course is all about getting people out on the water.

The Paddle Awards are called Start, Discover and Explore.  This page is for Start and Discover, and the course will be run in Canoes.

Our Covid-19 Customer Information.

We are making small steps at returning to the Centre in July, but the safety of our Customers and our staff is paramount.

We are introducing enhanced cleaning to the Centre, but please have patience with us as we will have to clean some equipment between use.

To comply with Government Guidelines we are keeping groups no bigger than 6, which means 5 clients and 1 Instructor.  We are staggering start times to minimise contact with different groups of clients.

We are having to re-think changing and toilet facilities for both our Staff and YOU our customers, so again please have patience with us.

Our Guarantee to You.

If you book a session with us, but have to Self Isolate, you may either defer your booking to a different date or have a Full Refund.

Paddle Start is aimed at someone who is new to paddling - so if you haven't been before this course is where you should....start!  British Canoeing certification is also free for this course and is emailed directly to you. This will now be merged alongside the Discover so we will be doing both the Start and Discover in one day.

Paddle Discover is all about developing those fundamental skills that sit at the heart of paddling.  Working on basic boat handling skills and decision making, this course is for those people interested in taking their canoeing a little bit further.  British Canoeing certification is £8 for this course and is emailed directly to you (If you are a BC member then the price is £6.)  This cost is optional and will be charged after the course only for those who want the certificate.  Paddle Start to Discover will run throughout the whole day, 9.30am - 5pm priced at £80 per candidate.

We work on a ratio of 1:5 during the Government’s Social Distancing Guidelines to give plenty of personal tuition throughout the course. This is to give plenty of time to reflect on the skills being taught and time to keep practising and really embed the new strokes in to your personal skill set.  There is the option of paddling either tandem or solo.

Necessary equipment such as boats, paddles and buoyancy aids will be provided.

On successful completion you will need to consent to us sending British Canoeing your details if you want a certificate. Start certification is free, but there is a fee of £8 for Discover (£6 for BC members)
