The Touring Award replaced the British Canoeing 3 star Touring Award in 2019.

Your Touring Award endorses your skill, judgment and decision making required to have a successful day on a river or estuary. You will be confident in planning and undertaking journeys with proficient skills to be in control throughout. Your award should be seen as a sound basis for building the experience and knowledge associated with the Open Water Touring Award holders.

Course Cost £150

On successful completion a £10 registration fee for British Canoeing members (£20 for non members), is required to obtain your certificate.

Because of current restrictions we we be running both days on the River Soar, but on different parts of the river.

Previous experience

Competent Paddler, Basic Boat Handling Skills.

For the training alone participants must either hold the 2 Star award / Paddle Explore or be at that level and be a minimum age of 14.
If you wish to pass the course over the weekend you will need to have evidence of at least 3 different flat-water journeys of about 3 hours duration each (10km) and at least one of these in an open water environment. And also provide evidence of at least one session of about 3 hours duration in an alternative discipline.

Payment required to secure a place, together with completed registration form. On successful completion a £12 registration fee for British Canoeing members (£25 for non members), is required to obtain your certificate.
